Her favorite class to teach is “Film Adaptation”, and she has recently published a book entitled “Teaching Literary Theory using Film Adaptation”, which can be found here on Amazon if you are interested (note the positive reviews): http://www.amazon.com/Teaching-Literary-Theory-Using-Adaptations/dp/0786439335
Speaking of positive reviews, Dr. Brown was very excited to share a favorable review from “Choice Reviewers” (www.choicemag.org). The reviewer writes “[Dr. Brown's] observations are fascinating” and “This reviewer is thankful that Brown continues the recent scholarly trend away from condemning adaptations based on their deviations from their source material.” The reviewer concluded “This book far outshines and is a more worthwhile read than others on the subject, including this reviewers’s Emma Adapted (CH, May’08, 45-4821). (August 2009, Vol. 46, No. 11)
So when you see Dr. Brown, make sure to congratulate her on a job well done!
